Creating the fascia signage for a leading art gallery on the Pall Mall
Established in 1985, the Alan Cristea Gallery is a leading art gallery and art space located on the Pall Mall, St James. It represents many internationally renowned contemporary artists and artists’ estates.
Alan Cristea is one of London’s most respected gallery owners. He has a reputation for producing consistently high quality of exhibitions, and beautifully written and illustrated catalogues.
New premises requires new signage
In late 2016, due to expansion, the gallery relocated to new, larger and bespoke premises on the Pall Mall. The impressive and functional new art space was designed by Stephen Marshall Architects, winners of the internationally coveted RIBA Award 2011 for the Rothschild Foundation.
Weathered built up bronzed lettering
To finish off the bespoke-designed new premises, the Alan Cristea Gallery contacted JFK to create their fascia signage. As the Alan Cristea is a highly respected, and Pall Mall one of the most premium art centres in the world, the signage needed to be tasteful and long-lasting. In light of this, we worked closely with its architect to create the right signage, opting the understated elevated built-up bronze toned lettering fitted directly onto Pall Mall’s beautiful stone facade.
