Elevated fascia signage for Applebee’s Fish Restaurant

Creating the fascia signage for Borough Market’s top fish restaurant

Applebee’s Fish is a family run fishmongers, fish restaurant and street food stall based in Borough Market. Established in 1998, the Applebee family has shared their passion for fresh fish by provide the highest quality, sustainable fish in simple, delicious dishes. Applebee’s is located on Stoney Street in the beautiful and bustling Borough Market – an iconic and internationally recognised foodie haven.

A rebrand requires new signage

In summer 2017, Applebee underwent a rebrand to give it a fresh, contemporary and premium look and feel. As such, Applebee’s contacted JFK to refresh their fascia signage in line with their new branding. As borough market is home to some of the most exciting restaurants in London, along with some of the most beautiful, engaging and innovative shop fronts and signage, Applebee’s brief was clear: to produce some lovingly made high quality signage in line with their new brand identity.

Elegant elevated flat cut letters on a beautiful muted grey

In light of this, we worked closely with Applebee’s design agency to create shop front signage that fitted the brief. Inspired by Applebee’s beautiful new muted grey brand colour and elegant typeface we were able to perfectly match and recreate both in elevated flat cut lettering on a wooden board. We took very careful steps to ensure the kerning was perfect.
