Gold laser-cut rimex signage for The Hari

Creating the signage for a new international hotel brand based in Knightsbridge

The Hari is a boutique luxury hotel located in Knightsbridge, moments from the world famous luxury department store Harrods and premium shops of Sloane Square. Recognised for its passion for culture, the hotel is furnished with art by leading international artists, including fashion photographer Mario Testino and conceptual artist, Tracey Emin, The hotel’s 85 bedrooms are also designed by British interior designer, Tara Bernerd.

The Hari was create in summer 2016. The hotel, previously known as the Belgraves Hotel, was bought and managed by Harilela Hotels, who rebranded and relaunched it as The Hari. The Harilela Hotels’ CEO Aron Harilela rebranded the hotel in honour of his late father, Hari Harilela, who co-founded the Harilela group in 1959 to become one of Hong Kong’s leading hoteliers.

A complete signage overhaul

Upon launch, Hari Hotels came to JFK Signs to create The Hari’s signage. As this was their first own-brand hotel, it was vital that it was realised correctly. As the hotel, wasnt’ being refurbished, the signs would be a symbol of the quality of the brand. In light of this, we worked very close with them, as well as their design partners, Hong-Kong-based brand consultancy, Mark and Chantal, to create a suite of signage through the building.

Gold laser cut Rimex on modern high gloss materials

To do this we combined gold laser cut rimex with modern, high gloss materials like perspex and stainless steel to create a set of very slick, contemporary signs that radiate that luxury feel. It was a pleasure to help bring to life a new international luxury brand.
