Creating the wayfinding signage for an award-winning £75 million pound residential development in London’s Docklands

Dollar Bay is a new luxury residential skyscraper situated on the South Dock in Canary Wharf.

31 storeys containing 125 apartments, Dollar Bay residents benefit from a private garden, onsite gym, 24-hour concierge service, residents lounge, basement car park and bike storage, and lift access.

Enabled by Mount Anvil, residential property developer, and designed by world-renowned Ian Simpson Architects, the Dollar Bay development was critically acclaimed, winning the London Planning Award’s Best New Iconic Building and the Mayor’s Award for Excellence in Environmental Planning, as well as becoming Gold Winner for London Design Award’s Residential Construction and Manchester Society of Architect’s Presidents Choice.

A premium and functional wayfinding required

In 2017, after a rigorous tendering process, JFK Signs were delighted to design, supply and fit Dollar Bay’s wayfinding signage. As this was a premium residential development, the signs needed to be the best quality.

Contemporary stencil cut stainless steel

In light of this, we worked in close partnership with Ian Simpson Architects according to their highly detailed specifications to produce a series of self standing brushed stainless steel stencil cut illuminated signs.

It was an absolute joy to work with such a reputable architect on such a beautiful and high-profile residential development.
