Creating the fascia signage for a luxury Italian tie brand in Mayfair

Founded in 1914 by Don Eugenio Marinella in Napoli, E. Marinella is an Italian necktie company. It has stores in leading cities across the world, and is also sold at department stores throughout Europe and the USA. The company is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious luxury tie brands.

E. Marinella ties have been worn by royalty and internationally recognised politicians including Bill Clinton, Boris Yeltsin, Silvio Berlusconi, Jacques Chirac as well as King Juan Carlos, Prince Charles, and Prince Albert of Monaco.

A new flagship store on Maddox Street

In summer 2011, E. Marinella opened a new boutique in Maddox Street, Mayfair. The boutique was designed by Italian architect Simone Del Portico, The refined store, filled with neoclassical details, has an aristocratic ambience complemented by its muted colour palette and walls adorned with family portraits.

Handcrafted signage for a heritage brand

To add the stores finishing touch, E. Marinella London’s management team contacted JFK to create its fascia signage. As this was a high profile store launch for a highly discerning client base, we were briefed that the signage must be of the highest quality completely in line with E.Marinella’s heritage branding.

In light of this, we worked closely with E. Marinella and Simon Del Portico to produce traditional fascia signage. To do this, we used traditional sign making craft and materials, including hand sign writing and natural materials.
