Working with a UK’s leading charity hospital to ensure their patients and guests can easily navigate it
St John and St Elizabeth Hospital, founded in 1856 and located in St John’s Wood, is one of the UK’s largest independent charitable hospitals. In 2009, it had an income of approx £42 million making it one of the 150 largest charities in the United Kingdom.
After a review, the St John and St Elizabeth’s marketing and communication’s team discovered that the hospital’s patients and visitors were having difficulty finding their way around the site. In light of this they deemed that they required new wayfinding signage to prevent this.
A detailed sign consultation to ensure our signs do the job
After a competitive bidding process, The Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth chose JFK to create a comprehensive suite of wayfinding signage for them.
To do this, JFK worked closely with the Hospital. We provided a sign consultation, in which we visited the Hospital site to perform a study of its layout and how people passed through the Hospital. From this we determined each signs contents and decided the best, most visible place for each sign.
Clear and readable acrylic wayfinding signage
From here, JFK designed and created a suite of Acrylic wayfinding sites for the Hospital. Working in conjunction with their marketing team, JFK used the hospital’s brand guidelines to ensure that our signage was completely consistent with their brand identity.
