Creating show stopping fascia signage for one of London’s most stylish and innovative hotel groups
The Hoxton Holborn is a boutique hotel located in Holborn, London. It is part of The Hoxton hotel group, which since starting in 2006 in Shoreditch, has rapidly expanded, with locations including Amsterdam, Paris and Portland.
Owned by Ennismore, The Hoxton brand is now internationally recognised for its hipster interiors, as well as its hipster outlook and upfront, transparent pricing. Every Hoxton hotel has its own gallery showcasing local artists work and an events programme, many organised in collaboration with businesses, business networks, and start-ups. In turn, The Hoxton lobbies have become popular spaces for locals and guests to meet and socialise, with all-day food and drink, free public Wi-Fi, comfortable sofas, and relaxed and friendly service.
A completely transformed office block needs a reinvented hotel front
Launching The Hoxton Holborn in 2014, The Hoxton contacted us to create its fascia signage. As the hotel is set in a former BT office block, The Hoxton’s management team briefed us that it was vital to create some signage that transformed the building’s entrance to be much like its super-stylish completely refurbished interior.
In light of this, we worked in close partnership with both The Hoxton’s in-house design team, as well as their interior design partners, Brinkworth, to create a highly impactful, on-brand fascia signage.
Modernist-inspired illuminated gridded light box
The result is a modernist-inspired illuminated gridded light box marquee and an illuminated circular projecting sign. It was an absolute pleasure to work with such an industry-disrupting hotel brand, as well as internationally leading design partners.
